For years, the biggest question about solar energy for Central Florida homeowners has been whether or not they can afford it. The technology of today has seen the prices of engineering and manufacturing solar panels plummet, but many are still debating whether or not it’s an investment their family or business is able to make. That’s the debate Google wants to take on.
As investors go in the solar industry, Google is at the top of the list. They’ve put over a billion dollars into residential rooftop projects, engineering endeavors, and other clean energy initiatives in an effort to not only boost the economy of the industry, but to facilitate more widespread adoption of clean energy lifestyles.
Now, they are making it easier than ever before, by introducing a way to help homeowners and business better understand the options they have in shopping for solar energy equipment. By analyzing your property, your property’s accessibility to sun, and your local solar energy market, Google can now help users make more educated decisions about buying and leasing photovoltaic solar panels.
Google has long flourished for their ability to compare airfare, but solar energy equipment has yet to come into the forefront as a comparable entity. Google has officially launched their new service in 16 metro cities across the nation, and they are now able to compare solar equipment and properties in a total of seven states. Though Florida has yet to make that list, Google assures further expansion is underway, as December has only seen the first of the service’s true potential.
Many of the states involved in Googles new endeavor so far have made new efforts of their own to provide policies that will only further stimulate the growth of solar. Florida is well on its way to introducing similar policies, which could mean Google will be providing its solar service in the Sunshine State very soon.
